Men's Recollections
Men of St. Ann's, St. Laurence O'Toole's, and St. Theresa's parishes are called to an evening of prayer and reflection at St. Ann's Church in Merrickville. Recollections typically take place on the third Thursday every second month. Sessions, once scheduled, will be announced in the bulletin.

These recollections largely take their material from the writings of St. Josemaría Escrivá, a modern Spanish Saint and founder of Opus Dei. They include teachings from other Saints and Catholic writers as well.

The piety of the Catholic layman and his relationship with Jesus is deeply connected to his relationship with his family and his life in the workplace. Between these two spheres, a man spends the great majority of his time.

The goal of the recollections is threefold:

-
Firstly, they strive to deepen our knowledge and love of the Lord and His Church.
-
Secondly, they do so in a way that helps men to develop a solid practical Christian way of life in the midst of a busy world.
-
And finally, they help us to find ways to witness to Christian faith and life in our daily activities.
There is nothing more important in this world than our relationship with Christ, who gives both the beginning of faith on earth, and its fulfillment with the Father in heaven. The world is waiting for joy filled Christians to show them that there is a peaceful, meaningful, and happy way to live in what may seem like a chaotic and productivity-driven world.
